5 tips for healthy skin that require no effort

Some people get nervous when it comes to skincare. Skin may be the largest organ of your body but it’s easy to maintain. It doesn’t require much effort and it usually takes a few simple adjustments in your everyday life to reach a healthy, bright skin.

  1. Go back to the basics or keep it simple. Skin doesn’t need much, don’t overdo it by loading it up with needless products. Trends in skincare are there to distract you; do you really need an 8-step evening routine? Depending on your skin’s needs you may add a product or two with the guidance of a professional but usually your skin won’t ask much.
  2. Timing is everything for your evening routine. Your skin may not be demanding for a bunch of products, but the ones you use they should be applied according to your circadian rhythm. Your skin behaves differently during the day and the best time to treat it right is at night, before bedtime. Why is that? While you’re sleeping, skin cells repair any damages caused during the day, your skin gets the chance to regenerate collagen, and it prepares to face the environmental attacks next morning. During night your skin’s permeability is higher than in the morning, which means that moisture and water are lost more rapidly that time, so it craves for good moisturizing before sleep. The good thing about that is the high absorption of the products you use, which can increase their efficacy even up to 60%!
  3. An anti-inflammatory diet is such a great idea! One of the best things you can do for your skin is to reduce inflammation of your body and the first way to do this is by changing your diet. Ditch sugar from your daily input. It’s widely known that sugar may cause chronic inflammation and destroy collagen. When you consume sugar that your body can’t process, it produces glycotoxins; and over time this results in wrinkles, loss of skin elasticity and dull skin. You may want to think twice before you eat that cake!
  4. Drink this glass of water! As you have probably heard, water keeps your body hydrated and helps maintain your skin’s elasticity. Studies have shown that people who drink large amounts of water are less likely to suffer to from wrinkles, fine lines and scars and they don’t show as many signs of aging as those who drink little amounts of water.
  5. SPF SPF SPF. We can’t stress it enough, don’t leave your house without your sunscreen whether it’s a sunny or a rainy day. 80% of premature aging is caused by solar radiation. Make sure it’s a wide spectrum sunscreen to keep both UVA and UVB rays away from your beautiful skin.

In conclusion, it’s not hard to be smart when it comes to your skin and with just a few adjustments you can feel comfortable under your skin.
